No,as long as Israel has leaders like Sharon or Olmert I don't think it's possible...As long as they refuse to give back the land to Palestinians and recognize their right to existence it won't happen...Israel is not willing to have peace right now.Hamas has offered them a 10 years peace truce that Israel refused. The Palestinians are trying, but they have to have a partner for negotiations...

Peace between Israelis and Palestinians cannot be achieved if they always continue to look at the past. Historical claims, some of them are holy, prevent reaching agreement on key elements of conflict. It becomes worse when extremist jurisdictions are given from religious movements on both sides which fuel the tensions. Such exteremist views are not necessarily shared by most people on both sides, but extremists work relentlessly to enforce them in the fields of war.
Israelis and Palestinian should not think of building two state for two nations, but should think of building one state for many nations.
Unfortunately, one of the problems is the lack of an effective neutral mediator. The US is effective but is not neutral. Europe is neutral but is not effective.
I think Israelis are making a big mistake of not taking advantage of the positive attitude towards peace by many Arab countries. One day, the Arabs will return to stubborn attitudes and Israel would realize then how wrong it was not to take advantage of the current positive atmosphere.
Palestinians lost also some appreciation because of the power struggle going on between Fatah and Hamas. It is obvious that Fatah did not accept the fact that it lost the elections, and wants to keep power as much as possible. I think Fatah helped Israel and US in making Hamas' government to fail (another proof that the US is not neutral).
God helps us all.

Peace will only ever be achieved temporarily, by any of us. We are, as humans, a life form whose struggle for position and gain is instinctive, never to be completely overcome at this stage of our development. Religious wars, competitiveness on this and any other front; all are a fact we must deal with.

Of course it is possible. When Israelis stop feeling threatened by hamas and plo and all that murdering bunch - that is when peace will be achieved.

Not if you had anything to do with it...

You obviously think that Israelis are some
kind of animal that like living in a war situation...

I don't think you have any understanding of the
human race, if you can bring yourself to assume that.

It's a shame, though, you seemed pretty intelligent...

Nothing is impossible if both parties cooperates and have the will to achieve peace.Thats for them if they want. Its just a matter of sincerity for both parties.

Yes, if they pull back the extremist Zionist position. I have nothing against the traditional Zionist position, which is a land for the Jews, but what the extreme Zionists want is ridiculous.
