Do a search on: freeware windows bmp jpg
Check out the results and grab a program that can at least read bmp files and write jpg files. There ya go.

Open the .bmp file in "Windows picture and fax viewer" You will see a little symbol at the bottom that looks like a floppy disk... click on that.. It will then open a dialog box. asking you to save it as.... down at the bottom you can choose .jpeg and it should save it as a .jpg... just remember to look were you are saving it at so you will know where to go to find it to open it.. probably it will default to "My Pictures" or My Documents"

Quick way: open it in an image editor (Paint, Irfanview, Photoshop, whatever) and save-as to .jpg format.
another method
First open my computer on the tools menu go to folder options choose view in the pop menu
and untick the hide extension for file type options
afterthat choose any of your file type of bmp(bitmap) and press for rename its name while renaming choose .jpg at the end

Download a free copy if Irfanview and you can do all kinds of image editing and format changes for free.
Personally I bought a copy of Adobe Photoshop Elements 2 on Ebay for less than $20 and it does an even better job. I do a lot of websites for Network Marketing so I use it a lot.

Open it up in Paint (Start Menu>Programs>Accessories>Paint) and then File>Save As... and file type choose jpeg =)

right-click on the file
chose EDIT
then Save As, chose JPEG format
