During his recent visit to Canada, the Dali Lama took part in a spritual debate. The other individuals kept talking and talking while the Dali Lama kept quiet. Finally, he was asked what kind of organized spiritualism would work best.
He shook his head and said, "You do not need 'organized' spiritualism. All you need is compassion. Compassion toward every person you meet every day. Compassion".

But the Dalai Lama IS a member of an organised spiritualism. How very hypocritical of him to say this!

I have compassion for those who don't have compassion ...
I have compassion for those who say they have compassion for you because of someone you do not know ... (that's not really compassion).
Compassion includes tolerance of others and their beliefs.
If you don't have tolerance, you don't have compassion.

plenty--I've always tried to look at everything from other people's point of view and try to understand how they're feeling--makes it easier for me to sleep at night
