Could atheists call themselves atheists if they formed a religion, dude that's deep.... pass the bong.... what were we talking about *cough* *cough*

Because atheists only have one belief in common - that there is no god. They have very different ideas and views on everything else and the general attitude is individualism, to live life according to what you think is right and not just following whatever someone tells you to follow.

The nature of atheism simply makes it unlogical to form a religion out of atheism. On top of that, many atheists are very much against organized religion.

The FSM is a parody religion. It's followers aren't serious, they just like to participate in the joke for the fun's sake. The FSM does not represent their real (dis)beliefs and does not fulfill the role of an atheist religion at all.

they are not religious folks, there is no evil atheist conspiracy or anything like that.
They are not out to control the world and are not trying to control you.
Wake Up!

FSM was designed as an argument against religion and the decision to teach Intelligent Design/Creation Science in Kansas.

The fact that the arguments for creation by a flying spaghetti monster were just as valid as creation by God was the whole point of it.
I hope you have bothered to read and understand their literature.

Atheists United is an actual organization. But if they worshipped a Flying Spaghetti Monster, they would not be Atheists.

Fortunately for them, God does not believe in Atheists.

That's the whole idea there buddy.
Religion is bad.
Freedom of thought is good.
May the Flying Spaghetti Monster reveal himself to you and..... well..... do nothing. Because he doesn't exist. Just like Jesus, Santa, The Easter Bunny, Allah, Superman, and Pat Robertson's brain!

They already have. A set of beliefs like democracy , monarchy, liberalism, conservatism or any kind of philosophy can be called a religion.

We are all ruled by a set of ideas, be they ideal or not.

if atheist unite to create there own religion..then they would be no different from other religions...full of tension, confusion and discrimination......

YES, these three elements exists in all religion regardless to what extent....

at this hours, athiest are enjoying their life to the fullest while the religious fanatics are wasting time trying to figure out whose religion is true/right...creating tension and misery for everyone.

To come to think of it, all religions are at loggerheads...

I'm not really a joiner

I think FSM is getting old, it was funny for a while but it's a joke that was told too often.
