What do you think when you see married couples, he is cute and she is plain? Why does this sometimes happen?

well. i think he might see her attractive inside and out. cause some people may look perfect but their personalities the worst and some people look normal but they got a great personalities. if i were to choose i would choose the normal looking w/ the great personality. so maybe that`s why some really good looking people go out with normal people. and love isn`t only about the looks. i hope i helped answer your question. =]

see, here's the thing. the instant i read your question, i thought, "oh no" immediately because, i'm not trying to sound stuck up or anything, but i can be pretty cute when i want to be, and this overweight, not-so-attractive girl that knows my niece told her (my niece) that i was ugly and don't deserve my husband. apparently, this girl thought my husband was sexy and basically saw him as a piece of meat, whereas i had known him for eight years, and, if nothing else, deserved the chance to be with him more than she did. i think my hubby is very cute, but i also think that i'm a visual equal to him, and needless to say, i was pretty pissed off when i heard that comment made. i know i soo didn't answer the question really, and i'm sorry. but i do agree that beauty's in the eye of the beholder, and the beholder will sometimes even lie to themselves to convince themselves that they're more worthy of a man that they obviously can't have.

While looks are important, it's not the MOST important factor in a relationship. And you know a lot of the time, someon you didn't originally think was hot, after you get to know them and start liking and then even loving them, turn out to look so beautiful to you.
Whenever I see this happen, i think that it's good that they aren't superficial and only care about havng a hot trophy wife/husband.

Not only does it happen sometimes but it happens ALL THE TIME. I also see the opposite, cute girls with busted guys. And I have no clue why.

Because beauty is in the eye of the beholder, maybe its not so much that she is plain but that she is loving, trustworthy and just what he needs. Not everything is as it appears at first glance.
