How many on line get gifts for christmas that don't like, don't need, or just have gift already do you regift it, or ask for recipt to exchange it or do you just hang on to gift for next year to give to some one else, and how many just toss it.. And how many have recieved the same gift you thought was a great idea yet whom ever gave gift ot you was thinking the same..

Please'' I have only asked a question, I am not writting about me, I spend most of the year listening to what ,friends, relatives and co-workers wish they had and I go buying gifts as I get paid, and put them away till the holiday is here .. As of now I have already finished my shopping, and I don't even get back as many gifts as I give but that is not why I give it is my way and I won't change and what I. Get I keep and use , through out the year..

i have regifted or thrown things away, but never asked for a receipt unless there was an obvious reason, like once my aunt bought my son something that was not going to fit him so she offered the receipt and i took it, this yr i think i will give more gift cards out.

I do not take it back, or regift. Not looking for sympathy here, just telling something. I do not get a lot of gifts, family is dead, friends are good, but few. I am so happy to get a gift, I keep it forever.I do not care if I hate it, or know someone who needs it worse, I keep it, and say, look at that, that's the gift I got from whoever.
I believe that the idea is to honor the person you are giving a gift to, you do your best to buy something they might like.
Ever seen the movie While You Were Sleeping? Cute movie, I recommend it. The main character is alone in the world, except for her cat. She finds a family, and goes there for Xmas, and is given a gift. She is so thrilled to get a gift, she sits there and hugs it. That is how it should be. We should all be gift huggers, and appreciate the gift and the giver's effort.
Most of the gifts I get I really do not need, and do not throw gifts away.

I usually find something useful out of every gift I get. If its totally not for me and it's really an inexpensive gift, I'll probably just toss it out. (trying to get rid of clutter these days...)
Please forgive me... I think re-gifting is tacky. Whew, I said it...
The gift that one recieves is for that person as the giver had him or her in mind when they bought it. Gifts giving should be in the spirit of, "Here I got this for you." Even if you don't like it, never re-gift it. Why give someone else a gift you don't like or want? If that's the case, then just say, Hey this is not my cup of tea, but maybe you'll like it???
A good gift giving idea are gift certificates. Its easy and the person can buy something that they really want for themselves! There are so many different kind of gift certificates out there, like the credit card gift certificates.

I keep what people give me for a long time because, truly, it isn't the gift (or even the thought) but the person who gave me the gift that I care about.
Years later I may figure out if there's someone who could use whatever it is, although when it comes to things like jewelry or colognes/bath products etc. I just keep the stuff. Sometimes I'll put some things out for guests.

Sometimes I regift on the same day...Im a student so I always ask for a recipt and hope cash was paid. Whatever makes whoever happy!

i got rid of that problem 4 yrs ago when i had my son i just tell people if you dont know what to get me just get somthin i can use for my son or another presesent for him cuz nothing could make me happier than to see my son happy and go nuts over somthin

Maybe its me been an A hole but my motto is if it aint cash make sure the receipt is in the bag.
In my opinion 90% of the time we adults get crap unless they have a list to pick from. so get or have a x-mas list.
