No diet. It's a lifestyle...it's developing habits...it's programming yourself so that you just do it naturally to choose the right foods.

I like to eat cereal, fresh fruit and yogurt together for easy yummy breakfast or a nutritious snack. It's so easy and fast.

Check out the magazine 'Cooking Light'. They are also available online. There are all sorts of yummy recipes there. From the recipes, I've tried...they are all great!

First: EAT RIGHT
Here's what I do. It's a healthy, easy way to get a balanced diet. You don't have to do without anything, so you don't feel like you're depriving yourself.

Breakfast: 1 egg,1 whole grain toast, fruit (orange/apple/banana...)

Lunch: protein (fish/chicken/beef/pork), starch (potato, sweet potato, rice...), two cups of vegetable(s)

Dinner: same as Lunch

Snack: smoothie made with 1-1/2 cup milk, FRUIT, Splenda, ice cubes combined in blender

I buy easy to prepare foods in quantity at Costco:
- large bags of individually wrapped meats (and prepare them on a small Foreman grill which will cook a frozen piece of meat in 3-8 minutes, depending on its size and denseness).
-large bags of deluxe (not cheap) fresh frozen vegetables, mixed or veggies that I especially like, such as asparagus. (Measure out two cups per person and cook on stovetop or in microwave, avoiding overcooking.)

Second: GET MOVING
Start walking and build up to 30 minutes per day at moderate speed.

These things take time. Once you get started, you'll feel better. You must be patient and have reasonable expectations in terms of how soon you'll see weight loss. This will help you to be stronger and healthier.

BTW, adolescent girls who eat breakfast do better with their weight than those who skip meals. This is because when you "break the fast" when you wake and eat, it gets your system working. Then you have to eat more every four hours-- especially the protein which lasts longer and keeps you from feeling hungry--to keep your digestive system going efficiently.

Perhaps you need to talk to a counselor if you have stressors that are contributing to your weight gain.

There's a group called Overeaters Anonymous that is very supportive and FREE.

the best thing to do is too eat as much fresh stuff as possible. Dont cut anything out of your diet just moderate it. You should eat a salad everyday with something low fat and high in protien like hummous or choose a citrus dressing, here is my fav website for healthy food http://blog.fatfreevegan.com/ this lady is great she has fresh ingredients and heart healthy foods. Start reasearching foods more and you will have a better understanding of what your body needs. Excersize wont hurt either.

drinking 3-8oz glasses of grapefruit juice a day = loss of 4 lbs every 12 weeks...I have been doing this myself and it has been working so far...grapefruit juice is easy on the digestive system and seems to curb appetite...good luck...
