I am not here to stand for any religion but...the bible tells of many bad things that will happen in the "last days".

Examples:

2Tim 3:1 "But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty."-DO YOU THINK THIS IS HAPPENING?THINGS ARE NOW MORE DIFFICULT THAN SOME 100,200 years ago?

1Tim 4:1 "Now the Spirit expressly says that in LATER TIMES some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons"-In your opinion, do you think this is happening?

1Tim 4:2 through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared,

1Tim 4:3 "WHO FORBID TO MARRY..."
-Do you think many people marry than some years ago?
(co
"and REQUIRE ABSTINENCE FROM CERTAIN FOODS that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth."-DO YOU THINK THIS IS THE CASE?

1Tim 4:4 "For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving,"

YOU NEED ONLY LOOK AROUND TO SEE EVIL IS STRONGER THEN EVER.
CHRISTIANS ARE THE ONES LOOKING TO THE WORD TO SEE WHAT GOD SAID ABOUT THE LAST DAYS.
YES IT IS THE LAST DAYS.

Good, thoughtful question

Many of the "commands" of the bible, especially those regarding "Cleanliness" and diet were meant for the readers of the time. For instance, the instructions for a woman having her monthly blood cycle, removing herself from society until it was over, were given in a time when there were no products available to deal with the situation.

And the "Rules" regarding the dead were given to a society which had no real means of handling the bodies. For the good of the society as it existed then, these rules were really good advice to follow.

Paul and Timothy were way ahead of their time. (Inspired by God?)

Another example is Paul's instruction to "Add a little wine to your water" was not meant as an excuse to drink to excess.
It was simply intended as a water purification "Ritual". They didn't have the means of water purification that we have today, so "a little wine to the water" was a means of using alcohol to kill some of the water supply's bacteria.

I believe that the natural disasters of today are pretty much the same as they were then. It's just that our media and technology are able to report these events more quickly and more accurately than ever before. Imagine being Pharoh and being able to watch television and see your army being destroyed by a parted sea suddenly "un-parting".

As to people and their "evil" nature, I believe that our world seems more evil because the news media need to sell advertising and advertising sells better on the station that has the most disturbing news.

Why do you think that there isn't an "All Good News" network?
It's because no one would pay to advertise on such a network.
People want, and pay. to be shocked and horrified. So that is what you see on TV and hear on the radio and read in the newspaper.

Take heart, my friend!
God has neither left us nor forsaken us.
He is still very much in control.

I believe things are getting worse all the time. Look at how many places are having earthquakes that have never had them or rarely have them. Look at the wars that are going on. All of the bombings, the killings, the massacres; it is just getting worse. I surely hope the Lord comes back to this earth and takes me before too long. I am afraid of what may happen in the next few years. The world will be in a lot of trouble by then.

Unfortunately every generation since the prediction of the "last days" has thought that the prophecy would come true for them.

From the days of Daniel to the present day. Weknow not the day nor the hour.

Not really (based on the parts I understood) - think how many things are easier, too. If the end is to come, it will be due to the Bible politicians like Bush and the whole republican clique who promote pollution and basically sell the future for their profit.

Things have been much worse, only that now we can say it, and we can read or hear it, when somebody else says it. I don't think people at Atila's times had a better life.

Well if you think about all that, you are going to scare yourself crazy. There is no definite answer yet, so don't worry about it. If I lived by all things that were supposed to be said by God, I'd be bored outta my mind. No one is gonna scare me into being wholesome!

I think life on earth is better than it has ever been...to bad people looking for the "last days" just dwell on the bad. People live longer, have better quality of life and you think things are bad?

PLEASE do not listen to Biblical prophecy, it has no valid use today and can not be used to forsee the future in any way.
If it COULD, everyone would be christian because it would the first thing in the world that was truly inspired by God.

The more things change the more they stay the same. It was the worst of times, it was the best of times.
