I went out to get some wood for the fire and a porcupine bit me right above the wrist. Are they venomous? Should I go to the hospital? I don't feel good.

When you are bitten by any wild animal you should go to the Doctors or Hospital and let them know what kind of animal bit you. They will probably give you a rabies shot. Since it was a porcupine and not a venomous animal and some antibiotics for the wound marks.

Of Course you don't feel good!!A Wild Animal Just Bit you!!Porcupines aren't venomous but their mouths are filled with nasty sh*t. Go to the hospital quickly and get someone to look at it. You'll get a Tetnaus shot {they hurt like a moe-fo by the way] but you'll feel better.I know what I'm talking about...hopefully you won't need alot of treatment. Good Luck.

Rabies is extremely rare in the US, but know the symptoms(foaming at the mouth, fear of water, extreme agression); as unless it was cornered, porcupines are NOT agressive.
Getting ahold of the animal and take it in for testing is the only way to know for sure if it had rabies.

There are no Venemous mammals in the United States.

Put some neosporin on it, and your doctor might put you on antibiotics. Hopefully you won't have to get a rabies series: NOT fun.

omg, where was it in the wood pile? You need to go to the ER, they need to clean it, you need a tetnus shot and there is a chance of rabies since it just lashed out at you, I'd try to find the animal and contain it even in your garage or somewhere if you can chase it out of the woodpile if it's even there now but you definitely need medical attention.
