i took this as my essay question for my general paper exam today. what would you have said if you were me?

I would say how hard it is, when the funds to help the charity get siphoned off for the greed of the owners (as with the United Way chair) or when phone solicitors get funds from you, but only 10% or so goes to the charity

There is, but it's not as clear cut as it used to be. Now, as taxpayers we are forced into charitable giving... our tax dollars provide welfare, social security disability, food stamps, etc. whereas it used to be the churches took care of those unable to take care of themselves. Now, people will take the gov't handouts AND the church's handouts and it makes charity a confusing word. Just MHO. God bless you. ~Nise~

I would cover Love, Hope and Charity. The greatest of these is Love. To have Love in your being you can give hope to the hopeless and charity to those who are without!

There is always a place for charity, if not we would be a greedy society. We need love in our hearts, so we can be charitable.
