If you go there, there will be a painting of Thomas Lawson McCall. But for this thing at school we need to know who painted it. Help is veryyyy appreciated.

The artist is Henk Pander, who was commissioned by the State of Oregon in 1982 to produce this portrait of Tom McCall for the State Capitol.

See links below for list of important commissions.

Why are people persisting with saying it is M.F. Hussain (or Husain)? It isn't. Not only is Hussain an Indian artist with no record of receiving commissions for US Governors, but the style of the painting is very definitely not his. I don't see any links to corroborate the statements.

This painting is definitely, 100%, categorically by Henk Pander.....absolutely no question.

As far as I know Hussain was an Indian artist, I didn't think he did portraits of governers, but who knows. I could venture and guess that it was painted by Henk Pander. It is only a guess though. Maybe you could look into Hussain and Pander and see if you come up with anything. If I find that exact painting I'll come back and give you a source.

Edited Part: OK I was right...it was Henk Pander. I've included a link. And even better, it has a little paragraph about the painting.
