I can't get the exact word in my dictionary, the closest being the following (none of them very pleasant, I'm afraid):

crawniad - abscess

crawnllyd -- purulent.

crawn means "pus",

crawni means "to fester"

Whatever crawndyadd may turn out to mean, I don't anticipate that it will be very agreeable.

Do you mean Crawdad - They are like small lobsters or crayfish. It think it would be like clawed water fairie, ( dryad - water fairie think it may be an old country variation of this ) but they are really like small lobsters or large shrimp that some people eat.
