No Bibles, Korans, Torahs, or any other religious books allowed. No "Because I can feel him in my heart I know he's there" either. Come on, you know how to use your heads!

P.S. I am not a definite believer or disbeliever.

The idea of 'a god' cannot be disproved. Because a god doesn't necessarily exist in a physical sense or impact on anything in a measurable way, there's no way it can be shown that one doesn't exist.
The Christian/Jewish/Islamic God as described in their holy books can be shown through evidence to not exist, as these religions are wrong about the creation of both the earth and life. There is scientific evidence to support this, in the theory of evolution by natural selection, the Big Bang, abiogenesis and various other scientific theories which are inconsistent with those religions.

Cases for God:
* You can't prove there isn't

Cases against (the Christian) God:
* All religions claim each other as wrong
* A benevolent all-powerful god versus evil in the world
* If everything is designed, it could have been done better
* A god who wants belief would ensure that he was more believable
* Rock so big he can't lift it, etc
* Seeing the future versus having the power to change it
* If God is the creator, it is insinuated that all things must be created, what created God?
* An infinite being cannot co-exist with a finite structure
* A perfect being would have no motivation to change things, ie, create earth
* Prayers are no more answered than would be statistically probable
* A 'just' god would not offer infinite punishment for a finite crime
* Many things in the bible contradict each other

I think since man walked this earth he has recognised that there is a supreme being of some description.

No doubt it would have been used to explain phenomena that early man didnt understand and it has developed from there.

If you are asking about proof of a supreme being then all i could offer is that various cultures across the globes have developed some sort of spirituality as part of there evolving culture. As for any real scientific proof of the existance of a Supreme being I think then you will never find it.

For me the proof of a supreme being is in nature , look at the clouds , the sky , the ocean , the mountains it isd all around us. I do not subscibe to religious dogma, churches or priests of any faith.

My faith is my own and I believe in me. That is all the proof I need.

Well, for one, GOD is a Spirit. So you obviously can't use some "scientific equation" to physically sum up his existence. Science deals with physical matter, time, and space -- something that GOD is infinitely beyond. If God were a physical being, and bound by time & space, then sure, science would be the proper tool to observe and then sum his existence up. GOD is a Spirit though -- see why we cannot "prove" his existence to you using mere science? Faith is key. When the Son of God came, he emphasized faith, and not science. You asking someone to "prove" God, is like asking someone to "prove" what "color" the air is. You feel the air, yet you cannot see it. Just like God.

Pascal wager is bullcrap..

My reason: There are no good things that religion does that can be exclusive them. (Hey, since all religions ask you to behave morally, it seems that its more of a common sense thing then just God's will)

But, there are atrocities that can be related to religion alone for they breed fundamentalism and exclusivism.

One of the common argument used is that believers cannot explain these 3 points adequately.

1. God is all loving
2. God is all powerful
3. Terrible things happen.

If God is all loving and all powerful, why the hell do people have to suffer?

I struggled for some years questioning that atheists have been in basic terms as boastful as theirs for their fact. I relatively have come to realize that an atheists is in basic terms somebody who does no longer worship a god - era. it relatively is no longer a assertion that there is no god. For me, i don''t worship a god because of the fact the evidence does no longer provide reason to. every person claiming that they know there's a god is in basic terms being cheating or delusional. desire my answer facilitates. sturdy success!

Try reading "The Case for a Creator" and "The Case for Christ", both by Lee Strobel. These books have scientifica nd historical evidence.

People have come accross, as claimed, many natural miracles indicating exisitence of GOD.

May I ask, why does GOD waste time on proving his existence through natural miracles. Why cant God just resolve the world issues miraclously in a "flick"...WHY....so would you believe in such miracles...I would hesitate....

You can't prove either way, but you can prove conclusively that, if there is a got, he is not loving or caring. Look at all the innocent children tortured, raped, and killed in every country every day.

a) God isn't proven because then the proof would be greater than God.
b) Try Pascal's Wager for a purely rational approach.
