So is this supposed to be some magical thing? Seriously, "prayer" is just a form of "positive thinking," and yeah people who are more active in positive thinking are likely to be a bit less depressed.

Sorry to ruin the magic there for ya.

(Although I'd like an explanation as to why depression sufferers likely outnumber non believers...)

Now let me ask, People who believe in God, or people who are some part of a cult or "religion" that SAY they believe in God? I mean, you just say believers and there is so much to "believe" in. Whether it's right or wrong.
Ha. I answered your question with another question. (Not being arrogant. just pointing out the obvious...)

Was this the same study that found those that were religious had, on average, lower IQ's?

I find that highly suspect. Anyway, I know that I was quite depressed when I still considered myself a Christian, and now, as an Agnostic, I am much more happy.

not surprising faith gives people hope that dose not mean by any stretch of the imagination that it is correct.

I personally can say for my self that I rather be miserable with the truth than happy living a lie.

Nice article.

Say, didn't Karl Marx say that "Religion is the opiate of the people!"??

Well, whatever works for them.

Peace.
