I mean like sometimes I'll just feel so angry or sad or lonely or otherwise crappy, and I'll cut myself. But then I hear about people who cut themselves cause they were abused as a kid or other aweful things like that, and I don't have any real reason at all, nothing really bad ever happened to me or anything, and I feel like I don't have any right to feel like crap or to cut myself, and it's not fair to people who have really suffered that I do.

Hey at least you are aware of the fact that YOU HAVE NO REASON to cut yourself unlike some people does.

Hmm but I hope you cut that out! Cause it ain't doing you any good. Try punchin some sand bags or taking some walks with your ipod. That helps getting your head off the cuttin.

I do get that feeling too , I was raised as a spoiled brat had everything I wanted even when I didn't ask for it. My parents were never abusive or crap like that but still I was a pain on the *** never doing wht thy ask of me and sht. Now I look back and think wow I was a lucky *** and look how I ve acted back then... Shame. But its good to realize your WRONGS , that means eventually you ll do the RIGHT things.

Oh, no hun you should never cut yourself, I had a similar experiance when I was 13. What always cheers me up is hanging out with friends or your boyfriend/girlfriend. ( Sorry I don't believe in immediately thinking anyone is straight at the possibility they aren't. ) No one should cut themselves, no matter how bad the situation. You can always go to friends and spill out everything that's bothering you. Plus, you might cut a major artery ( Depending on where you are cutting. Either way.. STOP! ). You don't want to kill yourself do you? :) Try to make the best of things. BE HAPPY AND WATCH CARTOONS<3

Its ok, dont feel bad about what other people have been through. The only person you should be caring about right now is yourself. Cutting is a very hard thing to get out of, it becomes addicting. As long as you are not doing it to try and commit suicide, its not bad, BUT its also not a good thing to do. It may not make sence what i just said but thats what a doctor told me because i was addicted to it. Help yourself though, learn to love yourself, and dont care about what other people have been through. Find another route instead of cutting. Mine was jogging.

I feel the same way. I cut myself when I'm depressed or angry. A really close friend of mine was abused as a child, and her home life still sucks, and I think of her everytime I cut, and think that wow she's so tough it takes that much to make her cut herslef, but I'm cutting myself because I have to much homework, or because I'm stressed about something.

I have a feeling that the guilt of it makes you want to cut youirself more.Self-injury usually indicates that somewhere during development that person didn't learn good ways of coping with overwhelming feelings or stress. They’re not sick or insane; they just never learned positive ways to deal with feelings and emotions for various reasons. Positive coping skills can be learned at any point in life. People who self-injure can learn to use new and healthier coping mechanisms. This process may take years to develop with the help of a skilled therapist familiar with this condition.

The late Princess Diana's word's shocked the world when she admitted in a television interview that she intentionally cut her arms and legs and had thrown herself down a flight of stairs on more than one occasion. FINALLY, self-injury -- the practice of deliberately cutting, scratching, burning, or otherwise injuring one's own body -- was about to come out of the closet. After that interview thousands of self-injury survivors called or wrote the media in response to that interview in just the United States alone.

Very often, but you feel the way you feel. Cutting yourself isn't the answer for anyone. I don't know if you've had therapy before but if so try it again. There are much healthier ways to handle your feelings.

It sounds to me that your symptoms indicate a serious illness & you should see a dr asap.
Cutting is serious & until you find the cause I doubt that you will be able to stop doing it without help.

You are experiencing physical & emotional pain and I wish you much luck in finding a resolution.

it's ok to have feelings. It is how you react to them that's important. glad to know that you appreciate how fortunate you are!
