hey, that can be so hard but the way you handle it can make it harder or easier . to get over the relationship try not think about the good things but the bad things that happened. and whatever you do don't cry cause it will make you weaker. be close to those of the opposite sex cause time will not heal a thing if you are still trapped in that long gone relationship. if you get into another relationship you will realize that maybe the relationship you are sobbing about was not what you wanted or was a waste of time.
you will be surprised how much love there is out there, but you can only find if you give yourself a chance. you have your life to live and believe me you gotta taste the waters ,break a few hearts and suffer heartbreaks before you find what you are looking for. goodluck

It was hard when I broke up, like I was being stabbed, it hurt a lot. Then I realized he's a different person now and that has totally turned me off. Then I got rid of all things that reminds of him. day by day, little by little you start to forget him. Don't expect yourself to be totally insensitive, that "old feeling" comes and goes less by less as the time passes. Now I just have a good memory, nothing more than that. But I'm always looking for someone better :-) At the same time, I can see other good guys with different qualities. Still the benchmark is my first love.

It took me 3 years, almost. I was so depressed that i ate and ate. I gained wieght and that just made me more depressed. What made me get over it was visiting an old ex from high school. My first sweetheart. We broke up because he was having a hard time during our new relationship due to his fathers death. He lost connection from alot of things and he wasnt the same. We remained friends and wrote eachother over the years while I moved from place to place until I moved back to town. It just hit off from there and now we have been back together for 2 years and just had a baby!!

Honestly, i don't think you will ever get over your first love. There will always be a special place in your heart for him. Other than that all it takes is time. Try to spend time with your girlfriends and when you are ready go out on casual dates with other guys. Oh and no matter what anyone says..bashing your first love won't help anything..

Yes, very hard, but I knew I had to move on, not sit around and brood, after a few months, got back dating again. Time is the best healer.

i am still not over it. I met her when i was like 15. am 21 now. I still think about jessica alot but i know she will never love me like the way she once did. I would drop every thing right now in my life to be with her.

Thanks again for making me feel like i will never find someone and love them like the way i love her

Its very hard. Getting over him is much easier than forgetting him. It took me a long while but once I was over him I felt stronger than I ever had.

I did some stupid things that led to the ending of that relationship. I "moved on" pretty quickly and had several other short and long relationships... but truthfully it took me several years to finally really forgive myself for the ways I had treated him badly. It just takes time and self-awareness to learn the lessons that allow you to move on and truly love again.

i dont really know if you can call that my first love but yeah it was tough trying to forget him, but after telling him everything though a letter what i felt inside my world became clearer, after telling him all of what i felt i began to let go, i dont talk about him to my friends anymore, i dont try to know where he is , i dont sing the songs i used to sing while he was still inside my system, i dont even watch leonardo di caprio films anymore because he looks like him,i threw every imaginable thing that will remind me of him, and now im stronger , forgetting someone could be a choice, and i chose to do that

Let you know when I get there, the ones I thought I loved time just ate away the loss. The one true love, I doubt there is an end to that one. Good luck and God bless!
