First of all, it concerns me that you're using starvation as your method of choice for losing weight. That's not only unhealthy, but it's also dangerous. You can lose weight easily without having to resort to dangerous methods. I highly recommend you look into safer ways of losing or maintaining weight before your methods develop into an eating disorder (which what you're doing has typically gone down that path).

In terms of fattiness, the determining factor would be what is used in the food that makes it fatty. For example, if a product uses skim milk as opposed to whole milk, the fat content will be less than if it were vice versa. And "salty stuff" can vary as well....salty french fries will have different amounts of fat compared to triscuits, for example. The simplest way to find out what has more fat? Look at the nutritional label. But when it's all said and done, it's the calories that will be more detrimental to your weight than fat will. You can have very little fat in your diet, but if you're eating 4000 calories a day, you're going to gain weight.

Just comparing the two that you mention, eating cakes is fattier, because it contains both sugar and a high carb count. Salty stuff is not fattening due to the salt alone. So it all depends on what it's on.

You shouldn't starve yourself because that's only going to make you eat more in the end. Just try eating healthy things and exercising.

I think cakes are worse because the sugar/corn syrup is terrible for you.

Cakes.

But it's really just the total number of calories in the food, no matter wheat kind of food it is.

eating cakes makes you fatter due to the sugar content
