helllp i just looked at my pinky finger & realized it is about the same size & firmness as a ripe cantalope. it has only been this way for approximately 15 minutes - is this natural? (my nail has not changed size, btw) please help me, as i do not wish to be called melonhead for the rest of my life

Get that thing checked, some spiders are dangerous..
Not to freak you out, some spiders will just give you a swelling and some discomfort and leave you alone with it...
However only very few are lethal, or their poison can bruise up your body and well I think it kills your tissue.. So you bleed internally... Until you finally die or just bleed out and you have blood all under your skin which will soon end up on your bedsheets and such..
Just get it checked, unless if you know the type of spider that bit you..

I gotta agree spider bite. get that taken care of as fast as you can before it gets all gross and swollen even more. there are pictures going around the internet with a guy who got bitten by a brown lacroose (spelling) spider!
