Honestly, I think it's pretty hard. I'm sure your significant other hurts because he doesn't want to see you sad. But it can be hard on those around you. Make sure he knows what you're going through. If he knows, maybe he'll be able to understand a little bit better when you don't want to do anything or are in a bad mood. And if he tells you he wants to help you, let him. Because not only will that make him feel better that he can help you, it'll prob also make you feel better.

Good luck :)

Have a journal titled , "Thinking Out Loud" . Write them down. Go over them. See what you are thinking in your writing. Nothing 'good', then , when you are with your significant other, just be silent. If the silence is uncomfortable, go and write some more... till you feel comfortable being silent in his presence, and pls smile a little; faking a smile when you're depressed is not phony. Selling a product with a smile is phony!

I hope this helps!

Hi...first of all, sorry to hear your suffering from depression...i dont think it is possible for your SO to not hurt..when you are that close to someone..you laugh with them, you cry with them...but i think the key to moving past the hurt for your SO is arming them with knowledge...if you are seeing a therapist, ask if he/she can come in for a session so you three can talk about what you are going thru..if you need medication..let them be there to hear side effects, what to expect and what to do in case of an emergency...a true friend or SO can be there WITH you but not FOR you...you need to do all the work...give your SO the time they need also to process what is going on...it is a lot to handle for them too...i wish you well and remember...you can do this!!!

Try to let him or her in on what's going on with you. Ask your doctor or therapist for good reading materials your SO can use to learn more about the illness. Couples counseling might also help since major depression is difficult for all family members.

hey, you can read the Bible and pray for God to give you joy through Christ. Jesus said that anything you ask the Father in His name, God would give you. Also, you may want to talk to a doctor about the best antidepressant or other remedy that is best.
God bless...
