black dove,
For whatever you are looking for in any book of the Bible, It's good to get more than one commentary on that book. I found one on line for you. There are many more available on software. And it can be inexpensive.
Matthew Henry, J. Vernon McGee, Albert Barnes, and others are great to compare to one another. You can look up what all these different authors had to say about the Book of Zechariah.
I frequently go the Zechariah 14, because it hasn't taken place yet, Zechariah being a prophet. He describes how God will fight against those who come against Israel at the point of time When Jesus returns to Earth.

The Book of Zechariah is about the time when God will deal with the Nation of Israel. It is about the day when the wrath of God is poured on the earth and Daniel's70th week will fulfilled. It is about the day of the Lord which includes the 1000 year reign of the Lord Jesus Christ on the earth. Zechariah 14: 1 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. Zechariah 14: 4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

Yea, the Twelfth planet was the best in my opinion, followed by the wars of gods and men. It's so sad that he's getting so old, and wont be writing much longer, he will be missed. The thing that I liked the most is his work is so easy to understand.
