Since you have waited this long, i would continue to wait, sex is not that important and it will open up a whole new series of emotions and take the relationship to a whole different level. I would seriously wait. At 17 i would think you are close to the end of your senior year, do you want to be a father, these are things that are a serious risk. Good luck and God bless

Sadly, no one else can tell you what to do when it comes to that big step. I found that out the hard way.

But if both of you seem to be ok for it, and you're still feeling a little worried then seriously, talk about it. My boyfriend and I talked for 2 straight months before making a decision.

Talk about protection - how much do you guys know? How safe do you feel using which kind? Are you worried about any diseases you may have? Have you considered getting checked?

Talk about any religious or moral beliefs you have - If say, your parents were to become aware of the situation, would this cause a great deal of problems? Is there any part of you that wants to hold out till after marriage?

Mostly just be comfortable about talking about it with each other. If you dodge around the subject and jump into it because 'everyone's doing it', or you feel like you have to, then I personally don't think it's the right reason.

Do it because you care for each other and love each other. As lame and cheesy as that sounds.

And if you do go through with it, relax. Seriously, it'll seem like the most awkward moment in your life your first time, but if you can laugh about it together and feel comfortable, it's also the most memorable. Take it slow and just be mindful of each other's feelings, both emotionally, mentally and physically when it gets down to it..

I hope this helps in anyway. Good luck in making your decision and hope you guys feel ok with which ever one you make.

I think if you need to ask advice on this one then perhaps you are not as ready as you thought you were. Why do you think you will ruin things? If you two are so much in love, it should just come natural. l guess if it is your first time you would be a little nervous but if you two are sure this is what you want to do just take things very slowly and l'm sure everything will work out just fine.Remember you said it is the first time for both of you so there are no real expectations . Just follow your hearts they will guide you. Take things one step at a time. Just enjoy each other. Trust me if it is something you both want it will be magic. Relax you will be fine. Good Luck with your wonderful experience.

The biggest thing that comes to mind it birth control (other than condoms). The biggest thing to ruin sex (in my opinion) is freaking out afterwards that you might be pregnant. Even if the condom doesn't break or anything suspicious happens, people can still worry insanely over whether or not theyre pregnant. In Texas you can get birth control without parental consent and they don't have to know, and its cheap some places. I got a years worth at 16 for 25.00.

Don't regret not doing something so simple.

don't do anything that you're having doubts about because that's where the regrets will come in. but definitely congratulations on waiting 3 years!!!
