I think it was a food allergy...Usually peanut.
The boy was allergic to peanuts and just a little bit will cause his throat to constrict to the point where he couldn't breath.

Well the only kissing disease i know of is Mono, which i have at the moment. Mono can cause someone to die like if their spleen ruptures they could ultimately die. Or if someone catches something else that's dangerous illness because mono weakens the person immune system dramatically.

Are you talking about mononucleosis. If that is it he probablly died of complications.
