I like to frill it with lemon, salt, and pepper. make sure you snap of the "woody" bottoms before you cook them.

Asparagus
cut off tough ends of asparagus,
scrape spears a few inches up from end, tie in a bunch.
Stand in deep, tall saucepan ( top of double boiler or a billy- can are suitable)
and add boiling salted water to come half way up spear.
Cover tightly, bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer until asparagus is tender (about 20 minutes, although very young tender asparagus will take only 10 to 15 minutes)' Drain asparagus well. server with melted butter.
May God bless you

Steam it, do not boil it, steam it in a double boiler or steamer. Steam LIGHTLY for about ten minutes, check it with a fork if you are not sure and when the fork has a little resistence, it's done. You don't want to over cook it. Butter and salt if you like. When you buy it, the smaller the end of the stalk, the better the asperegus, it means the bottom hasn't turned woody yet. When asperagus sprouts it becomes an incredibly large bush, so you want to make sure it wasn't picked too late. Check for a bottom that is as green as the top is

Snap off the hard ends. Put asparagus in large bowl with olive oil, chopped garlic, salt and papper. Coat well. Arrange in a single layer on a baking sheet, and bake at 400 for about 20 minutes. Dont be afraid of the salt and pepper...they should be well seasoned

it really is what I do... Boil the asparagus in salted water for very couple of minutes and then drain. warmth up a frying pan with quite butter and upload the asparagus, season with very few salt & pepper. cook dinner for about 5 minutes (searching on the thickness). even as achieved, shred some clean parmasean cheese over good. Or particularly of the cheese, you are able to squeeze some lemon over them.

My favorite way to cook asparagus is grilling it on the bbq; us foil to make a little plate (fold up the sides), put butter or olive oil, garlic, lemon and salt and pepper or season all.
Or you can saute it the same way, steam, stir fry, boil. They are all good. Make sure you snap off the ends and seasoning is always good.
