Yo kid, don't listen to these guys. You are only 13 years old, you are one active summer away from being ripped, trust me. Just get active, you don't need to diet, you need to start eating more. If you start eating good stuff all day, fruit, veggies, tuna, egg whites, oatmeal, stuff like that, and start moving around a lot more you will be amazed. Go hiking, explore around try to walk 5 miles, then increase from there, you will love it. One time I walked 8 miles, then the next time I walked 12, then the next time I walked 19, just for fun, I got some of my family involved we had a blast. During the 19 mile walk alone I lost 5 lbs. During the walk I drank 4 gallons of water, it was awesome. Always drink lots of water. Remember it takes a long time to get fat, and it take an equally long time to lose the weight, there is NO SUCH THING AS A FAST WAY TO DO IT. Take my advice Please, do not diet, just get active.

Cut down on your portions and eat more small meals throughout the day. Exercise at least 20 minutes a day 3 times a week. Other than that you just need to give it time. It can take a couple of weeks before you start to notice a weight loss. Keep in mind - that from the exercise you're toning up and developing muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat but is compact. So you may actually gain weight but trim down if that makes any sense. Don't give up - lots of luck!!!

Dude.
No.
You're not fat at all.
Get over it.
There are people who are seriously obese and should be worrying about their health, then we get stupid people like you worrying that all the fat you don't have is too much.
Also, BMI=a world of lies. Plenty of people are overweight because it's all muscle. It's completely inaccurate.

Your weight should be assessed using the body mass index (BMI). Your BMI is 22.5 based on the figures you've provided. That's normal. See the link below to find out more.
BMI Categories:
* Underweight = <18.5
* Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
* Overweight = 25-29.9
* Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater

Your prolly a lil chubby, but dont worry about it man.
And I would suggest against just trying to lose weight. Thats what women do. You should try and tone your muscles up instead. Dont go for muscle gains, your a bit young and your bones arent really solid enough to handle the pressure of weights.
Good luck buddy

I would not say you are fat. However, i would take percaution. But i would not sweat it. Remember you are only 13 and that is the age that most changes in the body occur.

hi. i checked your BMI (body mass index). it is 22.9. you are "at risk of being overweight" this means that you are not overweight but you have the potential to be. so prevention is key now. it is good that you're joining a gym. with proper exercise and healthy eating, you'll be fine. you can go to www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/dnpa/bmi/index.htm
to check your BMI again. good luck
