Your teeth need time to let the fluoride absorb. If you eat too soon after a fluoride treatment, the food can stop the absorption of the fluoride; fluids can flush the fluoride off the teeth before it can be adequately absorbed.

The food'll scrub the fluoride off your teeth. Give it a chance to do its thing - tell your stomach it'll have to wait!
