The name Michael actually means "Who is like to God?"
"God with us" is Emmanuel.
It ("Who is like to God?") was the war cry of the good angels in the battle fought in heaven against Satan and his followers. Holy Scripture describes St. Michael as "one of the chief princes," and as leader of the forces of heaven in their triumph over the powers of hell. He has been especially honored and invoked as patron and protector by the Church from the time of the Apostles. Although he is always called "the Archangel," the Greek Fathers and many others place him over all the Angels.

Michael the archangel is Adam, as in Adam & Eve. God created man in his own image. A name that means "who is like god" makes perfect sence with Adam as he was created in god's image.

Sorry, but, your hint is wrong. The name 'Michael' does not mean "God With us." The Name 'Emmanuel means "God With us."
The name 'Michael' means "Who Is like God?".
St. Michael the Archangel is the Prince of the Heavenly Hosts. The reason is because of his unwavering loyalty to God, by taking the lead in opposing Lucifer, along with his minions in their rebellion against God. It's not that Lucifer would have succeeded against God(God Is the Almighty). It's that he proved his loyalty to God Who Is the Creator of the entire universe, including all the angels, as opposed to Lucifer, who tried to steal God's Holy Throne in Heaven.
St. Michael is a zealous Defender of the Church, & is invoked by the Church against the Devil & his minions who constantly seek the ruin of all souls.
St. Michael the archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness & snares of the Devil. May God Rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do thou O Prince of the Heavenly Host, By the Power Of God, thrust into Hell Satan & all evil spirits who wander through the world for the ruin of souls. Amen. St. Michael the archangel pray for us. Guardian & Patron of the Universal Church, pray for us. Prince of the Heavenly Host, pray for us. Amen.

Guess what? It ain't Jesus.Michael is Michael and the Lord Jesus is not an Angel.Although he is the"Angel of the Lord who appears to Abraham before the Sodom and Gommorah incident,to Joshua as the Captain of the Lord's hosts,to Gideon,to Samson's parents.He wrestles with Joshua,and appears to Daniel over the river,He is not Michael.Michael is the "Patron Saint" of Israel and on a par with Gabriel and (before he fell)Lucifer,not the Lord.Jesus is God,angels are created beings.

His name is Mica - el. The el suffix does not mean God with us. The el suffix means of God. He is an Archangel named Mica--of God. He is one of the 3 Archangels found in the Old Testament and the New Testament. Rafael is another found in the book of Tobit. Another one is Gabriel, found in the Gospel of Luke. (notice the suffix of el on each of these). God with us is Emmanuel.

St. Michael is one of the principal angels. Christian tradition gives to St. Michael four offices:
* To fight against Satan.
* To rescue the souls of the faithful from the power of the enemy, especially at the hour of death.
* To be the champion of God's people, the Jews in the Old Law, the Christians in the New Testament; therefore he was the patron of the Church, and of the orders of knights during the Middle Ages.
* To call away from earth and bring men's souls to judgment.
