Since some time yesterday night, she has been vomiting. It went from vomiting up what she had chewed (a few carrots and a packet of cheese sprinkles from Pizza Hut) to a mucus/frothy mixture, to dry-heaving. She stopped vomiting, slept through the night, and seemed to feel a bit better this morning.

However, she's slowly seemed to feel worse throughout the day, and had a massive diarrhea attack earlier which was a good bit smellier than usual, and a dark mustard color. I know her stool was not liquid earlier today. Her nose is warm and dry, and she is sleeping heavier than usual. Her appetite is not as good, when she was fed dinner, she barely ate at all. She is in the process of getting all of her boosters (next appointment is this Friday), but hasn't been anywhere to "catch" anything. Our other dogs are vaccinated, so they wouldn't have anything.

Any suggestions for helping her? Should I wait until Friday to get her in, or try and get her into the vet tomorrow? Thanks!

Thanks to everyone for all your help. Thursday morning she woke up like new, happy, excited, and playful. Took her to the vet on Friday as planned and the vet said it was probably just a bad tummyache from her eating things she shouldn't have. Thanks again for all your help, we appreciate it!

Take her to the vet... As other people are saying, if it is parvo it will kill her without intervention...Try to bring a stool sample if possible...

Working towards my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, I hope I can be of some help. It could be a number of things... It does sound like Parvo (Parvo is an air borne virus)...it could be distemper also. Look for signs like white gums, bloody stools and pulled up on the back of her neck if it springs back she's not dehydrated, but if it stays and doesnt spring back it could be dehydration. Her nose being dry is also a sign of dehydration. She could also have worms. Also check the ingredients in her food, she could have an allergy. I would suggest a diet with no corn and no wheat as a lot of dogs are allergic to that. I feed my animals Blue Buffalo holistic Pet food from PetsMart or Try Wellness they both are human grade and are hypoallergenic. They are easy on a dogs stomach, but make sure if you change the food to do it slowly...oh yeah and most vets recomend science diet, i would say stay away from it, as it contains by-products and isnt all that healthy. If she doesnt eat tomorrow, I would definitely take her in to the vet as it could be something serious... bringing in a stool sample to the vet would also be helpful in checking for worms, which can cause dehydration amongst other things.

One other thing if your puppy is of a smaller breed it could be hypoglycemia, which can kill your puppy. If that is the case her blood sugar levels are low and she will need a prescription and try putting a little bit of sugar in her water, it will help her to want to drink it and also help if her blood sugar is low.

There are a few real keys to dog training, whether you are trying to train your dog to come when called, sit, stop barking or any other behavior. Understanding their importance is critical to achieving rapid results that are long lasting and help develop the bond between you and your dog. Read more here https://bitly.im/YICxf

The first is simple; you must win your dogs mind. If you don’t achieve this first then you will be struggling the all the way. When I talk about winning your dogs mind what I really mean is that your dog looks to you for all the decisions. Before you do anything else watch one of the amazing video sites that show you the 5 Golden rules to establishing yourself as the pack leader. If you aren’t putting these in place then you are setting yourself up to fail. Just at the crucial point where you really want your dog to listen they will go and do their own thing. For sure your dog may play ball occasionally or even most of the time, you may even have a dog that is obedient 99% of the time, however if you want a dog who always listens to you and does as you ask then you need to win your dogs mind.

The second key to success is to motivate your dog. It is really important that you discover what it is that your dog enjoys both in terms of exercise and play but also in terms of a reward. If you can make the experience enjoyable then you will both achieve more and look forward to training.

Some dogs love to fetch, others love agility, and other dogs simply love obedience training, or swimming out into water and retrieve. At least to start with find out what your dogs love is and help them develop this, what I am saying is work with your dog. The other point to recognize is to make training enjoyable reward your dog.

Would try to get her to the vet asap,or if impossible take away all food and water and give her the baby non-flavored pediolyte even if you have to force it down with a syringe,a small amount at a time,Also if you pet hasn't had at least two vaccinations of the Parvo virus injection, she could be coming down with this virus,as it can be contacted from humans, who has handled another pup infected with such and then handled your pet. Also you may try 1 teaspoon per 5 lbs every 6 hours of pepto bismol for the nausea, but be sure and give her the pediolyte, this will settle her stomach, stop the diarrhea and keep your pet from dehydrating.Hope this helps

Dehydration is a serious issue here. She could be reacting to her shots. I would suggest you contact the vet as soon as possible, sometimes they will tell you what to do over the phone. I have 2 100pd dogs and you can give them an ibuprofen or tylenol for fever but I'd check with your vet first. Good Luck and give her a hug for me!

I have been working at the vets for a year now. You should check the puppy gums and make sure their pink. then call you vet an explain to them what has happen. You would rather be safe then sorry. because, if the puppy has parvo it is better to get the treatments started now. hope he feel better.

A dog should be trained on how to eat, walk with you, not to bark, potty training and sleep on its place etc. You can teach anything to your puppy, dogs get trained easily with some good instructions. If you want some good training tips visit https://tinyurl.im/Uy0N1

If properly trained, they should also understand whistle and gesture equivalents for all the relevant commands, e.g. short whistle or finger raised sit, long whistle or flat hand lay down, and so on.

It's important that they also get gestures and whistles as voice may not be sufficient over long distances and under certain circumstances.
