It's cold what can you do? How about being a parent and using some discipline. Say no. Youre not supposed to be your kids friend your supposed to be his parent.

I do not think it was wrong for you to do so. But you need to realise that with the cold season you need to be a bit strict. Try by explaining to him why not wearing socks and sneakers would be beneficial to him why he should wear them. Then during summer you can let him go barefoot to the movies as a bonus for being a good son

You know you was wrong and thats why you are asking in hopes for someone to justify your wrong doing.I really dont think this story you told is true because there is no public place in America that will allow you in without shoes. But anyways there is germs all over, drug needles for your son to step on,glass, nails sharp metal and not to metion the guy with hepititis spit on the sidewalk 20 seconds before your son stepped in his spit.If you are gonna take the attitude his friends does it then dont be surprised when he does drugs and drinks and says well mom my friends does it.As far as it getting colder yep it is.When frost bite sets in his feet just remember to tell the hospital that his friends goes barefooted. After reading all 53 of your other questions I would like to add that maybe I miss understood you.Im not sure if you said that he wears sandals or goes bare footed.Either way I would say that you have serious issues because out of all 53 questions 51 of them is about your son and going bare footed and wearing sandals.Including 1 where you said YOUR friend went bare footed to the movies and asked if its ok if your son goes bare footed to the movies.I think you are in serious need of mental help.

First of all ..... do you know what kinds of bacteria are on a public floor? What happens to all those people that have gone into a public restroom with their shoes on and then walk all over the theatre? The bacteria from their shoes spreads all over the floor. If your kids have the tiniest scrape or cut on their feet, they can end up with a serious infection. Not only that......you're in NJ and I'm in MIchigan. Why are you allowing them out of the house with NOTHING on their feet?

I would FORCE them to leave the house with their shoes on, and make sure they wear socks! WIth the weather getting cold, you need to be firm. If they want to go bad enough, they'll follow your rules.

yes you are wrong for that. i once saw a mom bring her kids into a subway barefoot. i told her to her face that she needed to put some shoes on her kids. im sorry but it is soooo white trash. THe only time my daughter has gone barefoot is when she stays in the car with my boyfriend while i run in the store and get some juice

Oh my goodness, their friend was barefoot? Time to be a parent... Cold or not, for your kids' safety, put the shoes on. Do they go to school barefoot?

Maybe you could buy them new shoes, and socks, take them shopping for those items until they find something they like, that might help,. I know just about nothing about parenting because i am only 12, but i just thought that i would throw out that suggestion.

It does not matter what thier friend does, the rules at his house are obviously different. The fundamental question is: What to you want for your children? You are the parent and you set the rules, if your children do not know that they need a serous awakening!!!
It is okay to be lenient at times, but this battle I think you should have picked, primarily for health reasons.
