Jesus wasn't black, but he wasn't white necessarily either. He came from the middle east, and people in the middle east tend to have their own skin color. The paintings made of jesus were created after his time, so there is no accurate way of judging how he looks

It is not a very significant question because he is not his body. He took that body to do his service here on earth but it is not his eternal body, nor is yous. We have to get off the bodily platform and realize we are not these bodies, minds, false egos, jobs, nationalities, races, or even thees religions, we are spirit soul part and parcel of the One Supreme God who has many names Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, etc. To answer your question, he didn't have black skin nor did he have white skin he was dark skinned. But whats the point of knowing this. We should focus on his teachings not his skin color. Go to www.essene.org for the whole Truth on Christ

His skin was brown. Jesus was a middle easterner who spent all of his time travelling around in the desert sun and speaking outdoors. How many middle-easterners do you see (fighting in Israel) on TV with fair skin? None.

Check out this Israeli soldier. He's fairly light colored but still has brown skin. http://www.bobmay.info/images/bestofyear/palestine_israeli_soldier.jpg

In order for Jesus and His family to flee to Egypt to hide, they would have had to been darker skinned. I figure Jesus was 3/4 cup black and 1/4 cup white.

I have no beliefs on the color of his skin, one way or the other. To even worry about the color of Jesus' skin is ridiculous. How bout just concentrating on the important stuff?

Well we know Mary was his earthly mother and given the region she if from and the race of people she is from SHE most likely was dark. Nobody has really ever seen Jesus' Father - God Himself. We are a product of both of our parents. Given that information I believe it would be very hard indeed for us to determine WHAT Jesus really looked like.

It really doesn't matter to me though. He is the Son of God who died for my sins so that I might live forever. If He was green I would still worship Him!

should it matter? if he was or wasnt.. would you not believe in him because of a certain skin color?
He was born in the middle east and the natives of that region obviously were dark skinned, dark headed folks..Probably looked a lot like Osama bin Laden (sorry if it offends) but think about it.. Middle eastern looking, long dark wavy hair, bearded (the custom then) skinny due to all the walking and fasting he did, etc etc

Everyone has evolved from an African descent. Some went west and others went east to procreate. The mix between cultures has created who we are today.
