What should I do?

I have been seeing a guy for a while, he seems distant when we talk online but when talking on the phone things are cool. I think it is good that we talk at least once a day whether it is online or on the phone. But he doesn't always answer the phone when I call, or it will take him a day or two to call back. My question is I got in tonight and noticed he called but he didn't leave a message. Should I call back or wait for him to call me again? Just kind of curious!

wait it out and let him call you back, if he doesn't rush to return your calls you shouldn't rush to return his, especially since he didn't leave a message.
