We have an outbreak of head lice in our school. How can I keep headlice from being spread in my computer lab with the headphones?

The following is from headlice.org. Who would have guessed that there would be a head lice website!!
"The extent to which head lice are transmitted to others via headphones or helmets is unknown. Ideally, risk of transmission can be eliminated by making sure children have and use their own equipment. If this is not possible, you can clean the items between children by wiping them with a damp paper towel. An additional measure would be to encourage each child to wear a baseball cap to help shield the hair from contact with the item. Helmets and headphone should never be sprayed.
Most importantly – and best for the entire community – all parents should screen their children regularly."

just wear a scarf over your hair or leave in lice treatment. lice arent picky for clean hair like the myth goes. lice can only survive on skin with blood . they dont live on pillows, curtains, clothing. they dont jump . they crawl. just take your own headphones or tell your school for hygiene reasons you wants new headphones etc. lice can only survive a day without blood.

Well, unless the school wants to pay for all the head lice treatment they need to suspend headphone use indefinitely.

Bring your own headphones. Refuse to wear shared headphones. Obviously your school has had a lapse in hygienic conditions. The foam covering the headphones harvest thousands of microbacterical contents that multiple every minute you wear them anyways. I think it's disgusting to share headphones.

You could spray them with antiseptic spray after they are done using them. That might be a little difficult to do if you have a lot though...

They shouldn't make you use them if theres headlice .... Try to just hold one earphone to your ear..... Thats happening in my school too ....

Spray them with eucalyptus oil...or Teatree oil.. or orange oil
