Shrinking habitat. They are predators that prey on cattle and have been killed to prevent predation. Pesticides have weakened the egg production of some species. Those are the biggies.

Your question replaced into timed properly to jibe with the 60 minutes presentation on wiping out malnutrition in Africa. Distribution of a paste containing peanut butter, powdered milk, and a diet-mineral supplement can circulate an prolonged way in the direction of assuaging mortality from malnutrition. the undertaking is that the persons this is being given to often have 8 babies in line with family members. until they are in a position to be confident to cut back this lower back to a minimum of one or 2, all we are doing is postponing and aggravating the crash. by skill of attempting to do the main remarkable element, we are making the undertaking extra intense. i'm no longer saying to end feeding the harmless, just to apply somewhat intelligence approximately what we are doing. like the ravenous babies, the endangered animals and plant life had no longer something to do with their difficulty. unlike them, the subject concerns of the endangered species have been imposed on them from exterior. the common reason is loss of habitat led to by skill of human greed and shortsightedness. interior the only occasion, we are exacerbating the undertaking; in the different, we are relieving it. this is the reason i might particularly help an endangered or threatened species than one that has reached pest inhabitants ranges.

Too much pollution killed not only this endangered specie but also others like fireflies and people. Also, eagles are hunted as pets and some to be converted into stuffed birds.

Because of their great size, eagles are believed to have been relatively rare to begin with. The major cause of the endangerment of eagles is their liking for lamb. Sheep ranchers hunted them to near extinction for harvesting their flocks. At one time bounties were offered on eagles, bringing in "foreign" hunters who were losing nothing to the eagles' depredations. This continued until harsh enforcement of the laws protecting bald eagles convinced most ranchers that it was better to loose a few lambs than to spend time in jail and possibly lose their entire flocks to fines.

years ago they became endangered because of DDT which was a spray for garden insects that was used widely in food production in the states. it got into our lakes and rivers, and hence into fish which is a large source of bald eagles food, and as they consumed the tainted fish, it weakened the shells of their eggs so that they would break before the chicks hatched and several generations were lost. so we outlawed DDT in this country, however its still made and used in mexico and south america which produces much of the veggies we get fresh in winter. so its still around and still a danger to water, fish and birds south of the border. and maybe in china, and other places too.

Anything that destroys the birds' habitats -- logging, pollution, and global warming come to mind.
Anything that kills the birds or keeps the birds from reproducing: the most well-known of these is "dioxin", an organic molecule that causes eagle eggs to be too thin and hatch too early.

There are several. Farmers used to shoot them because they thought eagles attacked livestock. The chemical DDT (no longer used) caused the egg shells to become thin and brittle. The eggs would break before the chicks were ready to hatch.
