He has so many toys, cars, trucks, play areas, plenty of clothes and just so many toys, I am losing my head, I get rid of one and they keep on keepin' on. What should I give him, he already has a savings account with money, that's one gift, but what is another?

How about a special trip somewhere for the day? Like a zoo or something. You can buy something special from there to remember the day.

My son is going to be 3 just days before Christmas. He has his own play room that is separate from him bedroom. So he gets a lot of new items around the same time of year. The past 2 birthday/Christmas we would donate toys we noticed he had no or little interests in to local batter women/family shelters or such things for underpriviledged children. This year in the next week actually he has to go through all of his toys and for ever 1 toy he keeps he has to donate one. And he will go with me to give the toys out to other children. Of course with a very large, giving family he will have many more by year's end.

Just an idea... But if this is your child or a child you are close enough to, try finding a local orphanage or somthing of the like (or just look in craigs list for a family in need) and share the gift of giving. Teach the child to thin out toys no longer played with and bring joy to children less fortunate. Keep this up and you'll have no problem thinking of toys in the coming years.... :)

Hi fourcheek.
You are fortunate to be in such a great positon. What children mostly need (any time of their lives) is love and attention. You dont say if he has a ride on car-scooter ect. That is one of the things kids that age love. A sand pit is something else or some type of cubby house- you can get ones that are plastic and pull apart, or ones that you can put up even inside. It doesn't have to be a big deal up in a tree if you dont want it to be:)
Enjoy your little treasure- Mother of five

Give him a box. One of those giant refrigerator boxes and crayons so he can color it. No joke, boxes were my favorite toys ever. And then put the money that you would have spent on a toy or book or whatever into his savings account, or buy a bond. You'll be glad you did when hes 17 or 18 and looking at colleges or starting his career.

I too have a 2 year old and a 1 year old, i have found now as they accumulate so many gifts so quickly, that now i will buy presents that are for us also (sounds low i know, but comon, be practical......) Personalised Towels, bedding, his own writing book/stationary, face paints........But with all of these, they are now 'supervised' toys, the boys only get them when it is supervised and we can use them as a treat (Yah, good boy for eating all food, we can paint your face now - or a pic on his hand)....They really keep you busy and thinking constantly ah, so try and go for Toys that a) are good for you too! b) learning and interactive toys, that you can help with, but they too need to be able to amuse themselfs c) Special gifts that you monitor, as we all know how responsible those 2 year olds are.......Good luck! You prob know all this anyway................

Open ended toys. When my daughter was two she was tickled pink to get a skein of yarn in her favorite color. Give him stuff to make noise, stuff to build, etc. Give a box of sticks, rocks, whatever and say it's an imagination kit. Or buy some clearance halloween costume elements and make a dress-up box. Kids have too many toys these days. Get stuff that doesn't have one purpose.

How about plain old crayons and coloring books. Or games such as Spill the beans or Candyland. Find something you seemed to enjoy as a child and try to find it for him. My daughter's occuppational therapist said that a lot of children tend to not have as good of fine motor skills such as grasping and patience and turn taking because they don't play games that challenge them to use those abilities. So that is my idea.

Love is the main key. Books, outdoor toys, music of his own to listen to, movies of his own to watch.
Do some looking around on the net, see what you can't come up with

I'm having the same problem as you are. My son also has all of those things and I'm totally clueless on what to get him for Christmas. I think that I'm going to buy him some DVDs and maybe some sort of game. I don't know I'm gonna have to think about it.
