Tragic in all circumstances.
However, people dont expect to die when they drive a car or when they drink alcohol. People have to expect to die if they join the Iraq war and while they choose to do so based on a meaning they think are worth fighting for. Would it not be tragic if after they died, the meaning turned out to be an error?
Did you say end this hate? There is no clear path of setting a democracy there and considering US policy in previous invasions, we support whatever government that serves our self interest. Please dont use 'spreading democracy;' as an excuse as we would have invaded Nkorea, China, and Russia by now.
This war only spurs more division.

Let's face it the war is a joke, similar to VNm. We're said to have the best military around and there's a flourishing deadly force announcing our demise as well as Israel. I've never enjoyed the banter re pol parties but army & all we look pretty sad not responding to pres of Iran who continues matter-of-factly to execute our demise. If I was pres and an able country with a credible reason(their religion) was hell-bent on taking us out, I'd become 2 steps ahead of them real fast. OK SO WHAT AM I MISSING? DO WE REALLY DESERVE TO BE THEIR PAWNS?

Why don't we pull out of California, New York, or Florida; more than 100 people were killed last month in those states too. The media and its minions chose to ignore the facts when faced with the truth.

100 in one month is nothing compared to other wars. We still hate to lose any, but we are in a war and it's to be expected. That is a very good question and responce.

AHHHH... But it is an election year my son. We must bring up every thing we can to get a vote. Honesty and integrity are not part of the political game.

We went there to liberate them, not to die. Nobody WANTS to die...that's called suicide. When soldiers' families are sending them armor and they are digging through junk heaps for usable equipment (not to re-armor but armor their military vehicles) you know they aren't protected well enough. I don't want my brother, my sister, my father, my cousin, or my friends to die in a war that shouldn't be as bloody as that. You shouldn't either. Where are you? Sitting in front of a warm computer screen in middle America saying they should be Happy to die over there?

You are a asshole. That is how you think about our arm forces as
pieces of cannon fooder. That is also how the elite Bush's look at them. Patton said are military is to make the other bastard die for his country and not for us to die for our country or especially for Iraq.
