Yes it does actually! It's DISGUSTING but it helps a lot...I think I put it on my teeth for about 2 weeks, once a day. But only do your front teeth because it's so gross!

Maybe not so much to whiten teeth as it will deodorize and clean your mouth and teeth. Baking Soda is a good all around cleaning and deodorizing agent. Arm and Hammer have several varieties of Baking Soda Toothpaste on the market. Personally, I like the Arm and Hammer Baking Soda with Peroxide the best.

I have heard that is okay to occasionally brush your teeth with pure baking soda, but not on a frequent basis. Apparently, if used frequently over a long period of time, it can weaken the tooth enamel and lead to nerve damage. Once in a while isn't bad, but it likely won't be enough to make a difference in teeth whitening.

Cheers!

Yes, it will aid in whitening your teeth, but not in a good way. You are stripping away the enamel on your teeth. Baking Soda is an abrasive.

There are many other (safer) methods of whitening. If money is an issue...visit your local pharmacy...they have plenty of products that are effective and safer for your teeth. Even using whitening toothpaste will help.

If money is not an issue...go to your dentist and ask about Brite Smile, Zoom or a take home bleaching kit.

Stop using baking soda!

Baking soda helps in removing the plaque from your teeth. I use Peroxide every day after I brush my teeth. I take a mouthful of Peroxide in my mouth, wait a few minutes while swishing it around. Then I brush my teeth again. My teeth look whiter and it is a very cheap way to keep your smile bright!

Teeth loose their whiteness due to age,
cavities and eatingfood like coffee,tea,
cola which stain the teeth.Tobacoo and
some antibiotics also cause stains.
Commercial tooth whiteners use hydrogen

Baking soda will remove stains from your teeth, but will not whiten them beyond their natural state. That is, baking soda will not bleach your teeth to a bright white, but will clean off stains that discolor your teeth such as tea/coffee stains, etc.

It is very good for cleaning your teeth. Not sure about whitening, but it probably would help because it cleans so well.
