Hello All,

Please do not judge me but hear my story out.

I'm a big fan of Iron Chef and once Chef Kenichi made a raw meat dish. I was intrigued so I went to my local Albertson's and bought a chuck roast and ate it raw. It was slimy at first but it got really good at end. Evre since then I have consumed a raw tuna, lambchops, New York steak and a squid. I know this sounds crazy but I really enjoy it! Is anything going to happen to me? Am I insane?

A little strange, but I think you'll be fine for now. Just don't eat any raw poultry or pork. It'll kill you. Bon Apetit!

Well I do not know if you are crazy or not but ingesting all that raw stuff is going to make you sick and might make you dead.

DO NOT eat raw poultry or pork.

Raw meat and fish is full of bacteria and parasites. You could be hosting your own parasites by now.

Sushi chefs are trained for years to know how to pick the right fish and make wholesome sushi from the raw fish. You cannot just go to the fish market and buy a raw fish and eat it that way.

If you really have an obsession then you need some help. If you cannot stop eating raw stuff then go to the doctor.

Okay, I see your point. It's not a problem to eat raw foods but you must know what kinds can be eaten raw. Eating squid is okay because I think the Koreans do that as well. Don't eat any poultry, pork, meat raw. You will get bacterial infection. Lastly, only eat raw foods when you are 100% it is clean, if not you might get bacterial infection as well.

Relax...there's nothing wrong with you.

People have eaten raw meat since...well, since before fire. Many folks consider raw meats and fish delicacies...*I* do!

Check out any recipe for Steak Tartare, or Sashimi, and you'll realize that you are not alone; when meat or fish is raw, it is at its most elemental, and the flavor is delightful, and different.

The only problem is that it's easy for us to contract all manner of parasites and bacteria. See if you can get "sushi grade" fish and meats in your area; it's even higher in quality and cleanliness than USDA Grade A.

P.S. Have you tried raw sea scallops, yet...? Incredible!

Nothing will happen in the early days of civilization people used to eat raw meat. Only thing is due to bacteria , virus etc you may fall sick and naturally you will go to a doctor who will prescribe antibiotics and you will be fine afterwards like what all other do.

Maddy girl is correct, but there are certain things you can marinate raw meat in that are very acidic, and they, in turn, cook the meat in a non-heated way. I saw this myself on the Food Network, it is one of few TV channels I watch. But darn it anyhow, I can't remember who's show I saw that on. It may have been Alton Brown, Emeril, Mario Batali, Michael Chiarello, or Bobby Flay. Sorry I couldn't be more exact, but I hope my input helped you! Have a great day!

People eat rare meat all the time and it is raw it the middle with blood, so I do not think it is gross at all. I like the idea of it. It would have to be good meat and prepared well. Raw bacon, now that would be nasty!

You can get very sick from eating raw meat. You can even get some of those different types of parasitic worms. I suggest you start back cooking your food.

maybe you are not getting enough fiber in your diet. Try for about 30 grams per day - even half of that will keep your insides moving properly and your stools less uh liquidy. U could try one of those morning cerials that are like 12 grans of fiber per serving. Also if you have the runs like more than twice a day then maybe you should just stay home from the picnic

You need to avoid Chicken and Pork - they NEED to be cooked.

Semi-raw beef is reasonable safe as long as it is very fresh and properly kept. "Beef Sashimi" is usually cooked very briefly at searing high heat - so the outsides are cooked but the middle is raw.

Yes, there is some chance you might catch something, but it isn't too serious as long as it is fresh.

I don't know about the other foods you've tried.

Just make sure you keep it clean! (and don't invite me over for dinner, thanks I'll be busy! )
