I have java software stored on a 1 gig flash drive.

When I insert the flash drive at my work computer....it says it needs Java runtime Environment installed. My work will NOT let me install JRE. Is there a way to run my java program ?

Please only answer if you can be of help. Smart remarks only breed stupidity.

Install the JRE to your flash drive.

After plugging your flash drive into your computer, add the JRE executables to your path, e.g.

path=%path%;e:\Java\jre\bin

where e: would be your flash drive, and you installed the JRE to the Java directory on your flash. Change those two items to reflect whatever matches your situation.

What type of flash drive is it? Some of them come with built in software. If yours does, well, since java is interpreted not compiled there isn't much you can do. Although you should still be able to read and write to the drive.
