Immigration is what made the US great. Take a look at the famous people who have made contributions to the economy, culture and welfare of the US in everything from entertainment to economics.
The fuss about illegal immigrants is hard to understand. If these people were not needed in the US, and if they were not rewarded for being there (by being given jobs) there would be no illegal immigration. But the fact is, the US needs them, and needs them desperately. If all illegal immigrants were sent home, the economy would collapse.
What is required is an improved visa system, which would allow workers to come in to the country, and then to return home. Many, if not most, don't want to give up their citizenship, nor do they want to leave their homeland on a permanent basis. What they do want is to make enough money to support their families. If that means they travel to the US to work in the fields, or at whatever other jobs they take, then that is what they will do. But they want to go home at the end of the term.
A worker visa system would allow them to do that. The present system simply forces them to go into hiding and to stay in the US, as crossing back and forth from their homeland to their work site simply increases their chances of being caught and deported.

I believe that legal immigration is beneficial in some ways, and not so great in other ways. Immigration can bring so much culture and ideas into this country. But land and resources are getting scarcer, and that's not good. Plus, illegal immigration is causing problems as well.

It depends. If it is done legally...yes. If it is not...NO. Legally it is very helpful. This helps keep jobs filled that lazy Americans think they are too good to do. This is also a good way to increase social security, if more people put money in, logically, it means that more people will benefit. If immigration is not done legally I think we may as well just send our paychecks to a stranger in another country. when people don't enter the U.S. correctly, they have problems getting work, paying bills and receiving proper medical attention, so Americana's end up paying for these things for immigrants and not for misfortune Americans.

Yes...legal immigration. Healthcare and education already take such a chunk from taxpayers, illegal immigrants strain an already broken system. I have nothing against the people looking for a better life, but not at the expense of tax paying citizens.

Immigration once was good for America. It brought in different cultures, different ways of thinking. Then came the mass illegal immigration from the Latin American countries, mostly from Mexico. Now immigration, legal AND illegal, is a burden on the USA. ALL immigration should be halted until every illegal immigrant is removed from USA soil and this country has had a chance to get our economy and soaring taxes under control!!!! imho
