It isn't your opinion that weed is less harmful than alcohol, it is a fact. The studies that were used to make marijuana illegal disregarded the obvious oversights in the experiments and used ridiculous extremes only to justify their findings. For instance the experiment to find if weed caused brain damage consisted of a monkey with a mask on, through this mask (similar to the way you receive gas before surgery) had enough smoke pumped through it that there was no oxygen left for several minutes and regardless of what was burning to cause this smoke it would have cause brain damage.
There was a history channel show that explained it well but it was removed from the only site on the internet I knew it was so I can't link it.

BECAUSE YOU CANNOT REGULATE THE THC IN MARIJUANA.
Unlike most pharmaceuticals, which are easily regulated and dosage controlled, marijuana is a natural plant. Each plant is "different" with different amounts of THC in it and "throughout" it. You may get barely stoned smoking one part and totally ripped smoking another part. Since this is the case, the "Government" uses THIS as an excuse to not regulate and legalize the plant (even tho the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture grows some of the most kick-*ss plants there is for cancer fighting and glaucoma patients). So, its just a smoke screen the government uses to call marijuana a "gate-way drug (which IT IS NOT)."
Again, the excuse is the unregulated effect of THC in each Marijuana Cigarette (joint) that would be marketed. But, lets be honest, it wouldn't take 2 days for people to find the brand they liked or disliked! lol

Weed does impair your senses, your reaction time is slower. But the reason I believe its illegal, is because it grows so easy and if it were legal, everyone would be growing it, and the government, has not figured out a way to tax it. So by not making it legal, they can make the money on busting people. Just my humble opinion, and BTW.........No I do NOT smoke it, or use any other drug.

This is not a matter of which is more or less harmful for you, this is a question of government regualation and taxation.
Just look what the government did to cigarettes!!! Stick with the black market kid, would you really want to buy marijuana at the liquor store manufactured by the government? Trust me let's not screw weed up, keep it local and out of the governments hands.

Marijuana is not "less harmful" than alcohol. Alcohol is bad, but often times Marijuana use is worse. People who use marijuana have no ambition except to get to their next joint. Prolonged use of pot really messes up the brain and makes you very paranoid.
Weed alters your mind and your body and the effects of weed are longer lasting and more intense than alcohol.
Let's face it neither of them are good for you and you don't need them to have a great life.

Clearly because the governement made a lot of profit witht his economy. They hire more cops, the cops pay more taxes. They hire more guard in prison, judge, lawyer, etc... this is really prolific for the economy......

Also... (about the alcohol vs. marijuana arguement) No one has been able to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that marijuana is physically addictive.
