Last year I gave him a 20 dollar dvd and he gave me a 200 dollar temperpedic foam mattress. Yea, im a jerk.
Some suggestions? I know none of you know what he likes but just what do guys want. Willing to go up to $150

First of all, its not the dollar value that counts but the sincerity.
Not saying it is, but the mattress could have been a free gift he won, or he's just filthy rich.
But coming back to the real question, for $150, how about:
- a set of great CDs
- PS2/XBOX/PSP games
- a bicycle helmet / skateboard / tennis racket
- golf club
- my best suggestion is to organise a surprise party for him. With that money you could prepare all the necessary stuff to convince your other friends to come along.

a ton of gift certificates to great places, really funky art for the wall, concert tickets, an entire apartment of strange smelling furniture from a second-hand store, etc
