It was the only way to get Capone. Is prosecuting illegals for tax evasion the only socially acceptable way of dealing with this issue?
People will be upset if you go after illegals for being illegal. But if you go after them as tax cheats, maybe that's a solution!

Yes, but even that won't work. Demand for their services is too great. I suspect the government will be as effective stopping illegal immigration as they are stopping drug smuggling.

Internal Revenue Service gives illegal aliens an ITIN (income temporary identification number) because they have no legal social security number. So they do file tax returns. Unless an Employer hires them and pays them cash that is a different story.

no it is not the only way to do but it is one way for sure there are many others the major one being to go after the people that employ illegals as what they are and that is criminals and do not fine them but take their license to run a business.

That would be one way among many. Build the fence, use the Boeing 'virtual fence' when it goes into effect, refuse them jobs, housing and free medical. Require proof of citizenship when stopped by our law officials, take away their land ownership if they acquired it through fraudulent documents, tax them, fine them and send them back to their homelands, with NO chance of EVER coming back into the USA.

Try water boarding them. I guarantee they'll never come back to America after that and you won't have to waste taxpayer money for a trial. If you don't know how to do it just give the White House a call.
