If you mean as in casual sex turning into a relationship the chances are pretty slim.
I let myself fall in love with a guy that I had been "hooking up" with. I even let him move in with me for a year.
He never forgot how our relationship started and when it ended, I realized he never respected me.
Good luck.

Hook up as in one night stand, i would not expect something like that to work out. That is a heck of a way to set a foundation for a relationship. If you want a relationship, you need to build a foundation and sleeping with someone you just met would leave both wondering how many other times have they done this. If the attraction is that strong and you really like someone it is worth waiting to find out if there is anything possible there. So, my answer would be absolutely not. Probably good for a booty call. Good luck and God bless

Hook ups? As in causal sex? No! He gets what he wants and the bragging rights. You get to be known as a slut, he gets to be known as a stud! DON"T BE STUPID! Let him keep the pollywogs and the pregnancy that goes along with it, right along with the STDs and the papaloma virus that he may be carrying. You already know that he has no problem sexing anything that wears panties. Keep your's pulled up. You loose any respect that you may have had between you, and start out knowing that neither of you have any morals. Therefore no trust. (I hope that I am talking to a girl, you don't say. But it goes the other way too.)

Hook-ups through friends rarely work because your friends are terrible judge of who you'd like. Also, there's too much pressure / expectations from friends.
On the other hand, I know a number of happy endings from reputable online dating services. The pre-screening helps, plus you're the one calling the shots, and the pool of possibilities are larger than just your immediate social circles.

Definitely! I met my current boyfriend of three years in a parking lot of a club and we just hooked up and then both left, I didn't call him for a week or so. Now I live with him and we have an amazing relationship. It all started with a hook up in a parking lot!

If a hook-up is from a good friend that knows you in and out,and wouldn't do anything to hurt you, then they might work sometimes, because that person should know the other person, and wouldn't set you up for failure. I've never had them work because I don't feel confortable with someone being "pushed" on me because of someone else. If it works then good for you.

What do you mean? Hook ups are typically just gettin' together for some fun/sex...there's generally no plan for another go at it or a future...
So I'm not sure how "work out" would apply...unless you mean is the sex usually good? That's depends...
