For instance, imagine a gay man committed a horrible crime. Your pastor said, "Enough is enough! God wants us to protect our families from rampaging homosexuals. Everyone, we shall meet here at 7 PM, and we will round up all the heathen homosexuals and bring them back here to deal with them."

What would you do? Would you help in the "round-up"? Would you report the plan to the police? Please say why, and if you have a church, your church's stance toward homosexuality.

I'd think the minister was corrupt and would refuse to cooperate. I don't know why people hate. The Bible says to LOVE OUR NEIGHBORS.
I don't understand why so many Christians overlook that statement.

Well if my minister said to round up all the homosexual population I would first think that my pastor has lost his mind. Secondly I would call the police, and then thirdly stop my friend from trying to do something weird.

My church and my personal belief on homosexuality is that it is a sin. No way around that, but just like any other sin it has to be dealt with on an individual basis, and people can't force others to conform to their ways.

the church cannot engage in vigilantism....no pastor is above the law ..and punishment belongs to the law enforcement officials.
The only recourse you have is to keep your family close and protect them.
Stay out of it if you don't want to go to jail and or act unchristian.
As far as homosexuality it is forbidden. "Men who lie with men will not inherit the kingdom".....about early biblical days..."they went after flesh for unnatual reasons"

So if the members of your church , led by the pastor came up to you to try to recruit you to round up other people in town that they didn't approve of...you are in the wrong church. Don't mix in company with anyone called a brother who is ....1 corinthian 11-13

I would not help.. To be I feel that you are who you are.. I'm not like most, I say yes to " gay pride".. If someone wants to be gay then let them, who are we to judge. Also, just because their not like everyone else, but they still commit a crime, then let the law punish them.. Who are we to say what their punishment is?.. It makes no difference if your a flaming gay or a regular guy/women, if you commit a crime, then it is up to the law to punish them, not a bunch of gay haters..

I'm sorry if I seem rude or anything, but I hate "hate crimes", its not fair that some people have to hide who they really are because of the way that the people around them will treat them.. I don't really seem to understand why some people hate homosexuals, they are just like everyone else except they find comfort with the same sex.. It's not a sin to do that either, its the way that you are.. Some people just can't help it, either they were hurt by someone and they figured that the same sex wouldn't do that to them, or for whatever there reasons are.. You shouldn't judge..

That is kind of what the terrorists are doing. It is not for us to do away with people leave that kind of dirty work up to God. If someone does something illegal then go to the authorities. I understand It is a sin to eat meat but it doesn't mean I should want to kill everyone who eats meat. We have all committed a sin some time or another. " Jesussaid "Who will be the one to cast the first stone." It's all the same thing Kill this race or that religion or that group of people. We have to get off the bodily platform and realize we are all sons and daughters of God.

I would totally tell the police. This "round up" is going directly against God's second most imortant commandment: "Love your neighbor as yourself." Obviously, this isn't showing them love at all. My church follows this commandment. While it may not make a murderer its pastor, it won't condemn them or close its doors to them. When Jesus was on earth, He spent time with lepers, gentiles, tax collectors, and everyone else who was looked down upon in society. He didn't hang out with the rich pharisees. If He was alive today, He would spend most of His time with homosexuals, showing them God's love. We need to do the same thing.

You must leave those Jack Chick comics alone. He is the Walt Disney of paranoid fundamentalism.

Homosexuality is an abomination against God. Jesus got here to die for all sins, in spite of what they are. i think of what some are forgetting is in basic terms this. you would be able to desire to repent ( understand which you're a sinner in desire of a Savior), settle for that Jesus did die for the forgiveness of that sin or all sins you have carried out, are doing now or/and could ever do and then my acquaintances, as he instructed the girls persons caught interior the act of adultery on the brink of be stone to dying....(he first reported...the place are persons that condemn you and whilst she replied they are no the place he reported, i do no longer condemn you the two, different words you're forgiven) and then he reported some remarkable superb words that each physique Born lower back Christians would desire to hearken to lower back.SIN not greater. different words...turn from that sin and don t sin it anymore. For her it became being a prostitute. For a gay is being a gay. you recognize why he needs you to sin not greater? with the aid of fact he knows that sin will harm you and others...that s Agape Love...unconditional,, unmerited, unearned continually love! you could t get that love right here on earth acquaintances. So....sure Homosexuality is an abomination, detestable to God. He made guy/women persons and that they have been proper. yet...you could and are forgiving. in basic terms admit this sin and turn from it and sin not greater!

OK first, that would never happen unless the preacher was crazy. He or she would not handle the situation that way. And Christians don't hate homosexuals, they hate what they do because God says it is wrong and they are going against him. In other words, people should not be against homosexuals, rather against homosexuality.

If a church wanted to do a modern day witch hunt, I most definately would call the cops. I'd think you'd have to be a moron to actually think you could successfully "round-up" homosexuals, and not have someone decide to "round" you up later on because you're a fanatical zealot.
