How long do you think the tub will last you: a week or more?
Lurpak spreadable is butter with oil mixed in. I think I would refrigerate it but take it out about half an hour before I wanted to spread it so the butter and oil will not go rancid.
Sometimes I keep my butter out in a little crock with a top in Winter time because it is cooler but mostly I refrigerate butter and take it out so it can be spreadable.
Hint: you can also put the butter into the Microwave for about 10 seconds - makes it soft and spreads easier.

I lived with a lady who had what I think she called a butter bell. It was shaped like a bell and you put the butter in it. then you partially filled the other part, which was like a glass with water. you put the bell part in the second one. It kept air away fom the butter so it didn't go bad but you can leave it out so it is soft. sorry this description is so bad. I will try and get better info for you.
Ok, here are some good web sites:)
so, no you don't have to keep it in the fridge.

Look at the label- I'm not sure about Lurpak, but you can keep regular butter at room temperature for maybe 5 days. I wouldn't eat it after that. I've been doing this for years.

If it is REAL dairy butter, then YES! It MUST be kept in the fridge so it doesn't spoil or make you sick from eating it.

Most butter will have a rancid taste if it stays out for more than one day.

It depends on the climate conditions where you live. What is the average temp in your kitchen?
