I read it to escape reality to, but probably in a different way. I'm not a huge fan of the stories, i think a relationship with God is more important than memorizing passages. I think a lot of those stories are fascinating so that they state morals and miracles effectively. I personally prefer more spiritually peaceful reading. So instead, I like the gospels and the straight words of God/Jesus in the New Testament and all the hymns and prayers in psalms. Though i have read and respect the whole Bible, that makes me feel good after a long hard day, not necessarily those stories.

because God's word is real. look at any story in the Bible, noah's ark for example. did you know that there's SCIENTIFIC evidence suppoting that the earth was once completely flooded?? also, there's the whole thing about "karma". before the phase was coined, the Lord God Himself said there's a whole concept of sowing and reaping; what you give is what you get. the world just took God off the concept when He was first to establish that principle.

also, everything that God said would come true HAS COME TRUE. ive read all the other books. nowhere has allah or buddha or whatever else mentioned anything about world peace. God says there cant be. He says there will be war after war. He says there will be hunger. but He also gives hope. God says in His Word that by accepting Him, you enter into His covenant protection. i myself have been in countless car accidents, and have emerged out of a totalled car with not one scratch.

You say you read the Bible. believe it or not, what you read will begin to grow on you. keep reading His Word. He says that His Word and His prophecies WILL NOT RETURN VOID.

every word, every sentence, every period you have read has become a very small seed. pretty soon, it will grow. you will develop a love for God because you spend time in His word. you know how He is.

i just pray that you're ready to accept Him!

Just so you know reality is not absolute. Einstein theorized that the universe is a container for our consciousness and we could influence the nature of the universe(reality). Reality is not absolute. Our perceptions ARE reality. No matter how twisted. Like yours.

And you sound just as closed minded as some Christians.

And just so you know we have literally hundreds of texts confirming hundreds of stories in the bible. Just ask any person that knows their ancient texts. Like the epic of gilgamesh has a story that mirrors noah's ark except it's told from the point of view from a sumer king. Not noah.

Guess what's the oldest know city? It's Jericho. Same one as in the bible.

You should learn to actually read and be open minded.

Maybe so, but have you ever done a web search on Fulfilled Bible Prophecy? If you find a good site it will give you the dates that something was prophesied and the date it was fulfilled with 100% accuracy, don't know of any fairy tales that have accomplished that.

I relatively have fantastically sharp memories of my adolescents. i are conscious of it relatively is uncommon, yet i'm no longer mendacity. i've got used logic and asked people who have been there to corroborate the courting. I as quickly as asked my mom at age 4 "why did people make God?"....does that count selection as questioning? in any case, i began out examining around age 5 and inhaled some one hundred+ internet site books containing fairytales. yet I actually believed in God up until age 19. My atheism is basically some years previous while in comparison with how long i've got believed. yet in spite of the undeniable fact that I wasn't ever advised that the memories that my persons advised/study weren't incredibly actual, or likely untrue. I mean, to me they have been in basic terms entertainment and that i'm specific i presumed they have been actual as a infant. perchance this is an significant element. Believing with out questioning, serious questioning skills do remember, and my faculties did no longer incredibly permit me advance mine until ultimately previous due intense college. the way you study issues isn't comparable to how plenty you have study. additionally, my kiddie Bibles have been consistently friendly and not too questionable. No rape, racism (blatant), etc.

You're right it is a great story. But if that's all it is, then you would just throw it away with the rest of your books. I read it to grow in my Christian faith

Christians read the Bible because anything else is too hard for them to understand. Especially any of those 'science textbooks' with their long words and empirical evidence.
