My daughter is not really fond of milk, but she loves chocolate milk. I'd rather she have the chocolate milk, and get the calcium she needs, rather than not drink any milk at all.

Well, too much chocolate is not good for the kid, especially at just one year old. If you're making the chocolate milk, make it a treat every once in a while. Make sure it's not some store bought "chocolate drink," though. Lots of those are loaded with sugar and don't have the calcium of regular milk! The last thing you want is a kid that's hooked on sweets and won't even touch food that is good for them.

You're best bet would be to wait on it for a while, and if you're concerned with getting the child cacium, look to other means such as calcium fortified juices, or baby foods.

My child is 2 and I only recently let her try some chocolate milk. They are safe, except for maybe the sugar, but I just don't want my daughter to expect it all the time. She drinks regular milk just fine, and I'd like to keep it that way. I don't really think a 1 yr. old needs the chocolate drinks, but that's just my opinion.

I have read that chocolate milk has just as much nutritional value as regular milk. I wouldn't let my children drink JUST chocolate milk and no white milk. But if i had a kid that refused to drink white milk then i would rather her drink chocolate milk then no milk.

VERY very small amount. just as bad for animals to have. Thus the kid is human. doent mean it wouldnt hurt them. To much could reslat in a few problems. but small about like half of an m & m shouldnt hurt. but not all the time. Make sure if the kid doesnt have teeth. make sure it is soft so the baby can chew it.

My 11 month old drinks chocolate milk occasionally and it hasn't hurt her. Probably too much would cause tooth decay though. As long as your kid is not lactose intolerant, it should be fine!

yes, but would resist the urge to make him a choclate milk all the time. My niece is addicted to strawberry milk and refuses to drink plain milk. Give it as a treat like once a week or once a month.

I would say yes! Just remember to limit the amount of drinks you provide to your baby, because of the sugar contents. Healthy snacks as infants create healthy habits as adults.

Chocolate is good for children and it is god for you too. It is said to cntain some ingredinets that hold hunger pangs - weight wachters - and also retain body heat -I am not sure about the last one.

It isn't necessarily harmful, but it may be easier for you in the long run, to let your child get used to healthy food before you begin introducing sweet or flavored foods to then. Trust me, my little nephew is going to have to have surgery on his colin because his mom lets him eat junk and he can't poo (he is 4 years old!)
