I recently met a guy, and i think i like him, he also asked me out and talked with me when he saw me online at nite. He told me that he was very hurt in his last relationship and he loved that girl very very much. Though he said it is history now, i coulda help but wonder if he is over her yet. I like him but i dun want to be someone replacement. So how can i tell if one' s over his ex?

Take things slow. It takes time to get over the hurt. (been there on more than one occasion.) Make sure he's not using you as a replacement. (You've heard of "on the rebound"? It usually doesn't last!!) Time will tell.

Hi, I saw your question and its shocking familiar. I have had many very bad relationships in which I got hurt very bad. I was cheated on, lied too, and well I wont go on but I certainly consider myself damaged goods. I have a new girlfirend now and I love her with all my heart and all my soul. I have talked too her, told her that I have a issue with trust due too the fact that I have been hurt, and that I want this too be open and show her upfront that Im doing all that I possibly know how too do too correct my internal problem. My girl has never once lied too me, never once cheated. But regardless, due too my past I always have a fear inside me that she will, that she will start talking too some guy form online or somewhere else and then leave. But deep down I do know that she loves me and I also know that this is just left over pain.
Now too best answer your question... Just because someone has been hurt in the past does certainly NOT mean that they are still hung up on a ex. When someone gets hurt like I have it leaves scars in the heart, but that doesnt mean he is gonna run away and go back too her. Why would he go back too someone who hurt him so bad anyway ??? I sure wouldnt. But if you do like this guy, then come on and give him a chance. You just might find that there truly can be a gold nugget that will come from the rough. Talk too him, find out how he was hurt. Find out what the pain is that he has bottled up inside himself. It may take awhile too get him too open up but if you show him Love and care he will in time. Show him that you are not going too hurt him like the past girls have. You just may find a man inside his body that will take your hand and love you til the end of time if you just give him the chance and acknowledge that he has a issue that you can help him with if your willing too do it. Nothing Great ever comes free. Good Men are very few and far in this world today and if this is a Good one sometimes you have too pay a small price too get him and dealing with this problem just might be what you have too pay. I hope that what I have said has been beneficial and I wish you the very best of luck... -Bob

Unfortunately, there's no way to tell. Him asking you out may mean he's ready for something -- but you just can't tell what. It's just a chance you have to take at this point. You say his last girl is history, but I don't know how long it's been since he left her. If it's been a long time, odds are he may be ready for a committed relationship again. Good luck. If it doesn't work out, remember, there are other fishes in the sea.

One thing is to sit him down and have a talk with him and how long ago did this break up take place. is it fresh or is it old if it is old tell him you want to take it slow cause it seem like you can't let the past go and tell him all women are not alike and if it is fresh give him some space cause he is not over her good luck

It make take it some time to get over her. But, the more time you spend with him, the more fun he has with you, the faster he forgets her. You aren't replacing her......you are making her fade away!

You can't, you either have to choose to take a chance or not.
