I know that most people hate car salesmen but there are a few good one out there like myself. My suggestion would be to stick with a compactt (small) car like a Ford Focus, Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla. But also try to get the best one for yout money in which I would go for the Focus just stay away from the 2002 and earlier Focus the newer ones are great. Hondas and Toyotas are great but to get one at a great price you would have to find and older one with high miles.

I would name a hole list of auto makers that make great first time cars, how ever depending on you budget. I would say any that are cheap, easy on gas and bright in color would be best for the first time driver... I would also say a used car would would work great too, Good Luck.

a good, economic and safe car for new drivers would be something like a honda civic or a toyota coup. the smaller the car, the better handling and lower center of gravity it will have. the bigger the car, like an suv, the more safer it will be in crashes, but they have a high center of gravity and can flip over easier.

you need to look for something between 50,000 and 75000 miles. that will keep your price down as well as keep the car fairly reliable. I have always found that you get better cars from individual sales rather than car lots. car salesmen are the worst humans on the planet. BUT if you can get a car from the little old lady down the street, it will probably last forever. look in newspaper and keep your eye out for signs on the street.
