I lost about 14 lbs during the first two weeks. I've been on Atkins for a year and a half now, I've lost 40 lbs, I feel fantastic, may aches and pains are gone, my carpal tunnel is gone, my plantar fascitis is gone, I've never been healthier.
Go for it.

I lost 15 pounds on the Atkins diet during the induction period. I followed the diet to the tee.It helps to read the book thoroughly before starting the diet. Make sure your mind is set to do this. I made sure I drank lots of water. I didn't really have a problem except I felt I was eating too much fat but then I was losing weight. The Atkins Diet served as a jump-start to lose weight and now I maintain my weight by working out. However, I will only do the Atkins diet once.

Remember - Atkins died while using his own diet - It didn't do much for me - I discovered that a natural and healthy approach is much better (I'm 45). I just started a natural and healthy "No Diet Weight Loss" plan along with a healthy and natural high energy drink and I have lost 24 pounds and 2 3/4" in my waist in 31 days (Today being my 31st day on the plan) But it really comes down to your choice, it's your life

dont do Atkins!!!!!!!!!
Atkins diet promotes body ketosis. I wont get into all the bad things that can happen while on Atkins you can google that info. Heres what I will say...The human body needs to kep its (cellular) ph at the critical "window of life" range from 7.35-7.45, anything outside of this in either direction will cause cells to die.Atkins diet will cause your body to go thrugh Ketosis and that means your bodys ph will begin to rise above 7.45 and potentially cause problems. Your best bet is to seek the advice of a nutritionist and go from there.

The Adkins diet is not popular anymore, thank heavens. You may lose some weight at first but it will all come back and more. The adkins diet also causes bad breath, tooth loss, and many health problems. If you will begin an exercise program and stick with it you will lose weight and become healthier all over.

I don't believe Atkins is a healthy diet. Try weight watchers. It is much healthier.

Dr. Atkins weighed 275 pounds when he died. He actually died from hitting his head in a fall, but he had advanced heart disease.
