There are a few different words in Spanish that could be translated as "pretty", depending on the thing that you are talking about and context. For example, I have heard women called "linda" when people are talking not just about their looks but their personality; they're a beautiful person. "Bella" seems to be more about a woman's looks. Beautiful buildings are "hermosos" and little kids are "bonitos". And so on. It depends a lot. It's like if you tried to explain the difference between "pretty", "cute", "beautiful", and "lovely" in English. You know the difference, but it's really hard to put into words.

bonito/a
lindo/a
chulo/a
mono/a ( its a weird slang)

if you go to Puerto Rico, you can say " cute" lol
